In light of Osama bin Laden's death, I felt it was appropriate to revisit an inspirational artist, who crosses over to all ages and time. Dan Eldon's journal pages are currently on exhibit, and I had not seen these before, so I felt I needed to share Dan Eldon again. This is the video I show along with him also, which says anything so much better than I can.
Love this artists work as well. Catherine Hammerton creates these beautiful textile, mixed media pieces that all remind me of birds in flight, or pooling fish. They seem inspired by Japanese culture or vintage wallpaper, but then her wall pieces can be so modern and slightly minimalist. The best way to view her work is to just go to her site!
I found this new artist Catherine Campbell whose work is so simple, yet detailed, flirty, and creative. Such a great sence of design and great idea for students. Love the idea of drawing mixed with fabric/paper as simple pattern, and just her use of color as pattern. So great.
Yamamoto Takato is curently my new favorite artist, and also reminds me of Aubrey Beardsley. Such detailed drawings, and so beautiful. They remind me of Greek Gods and their relationship to the mortals. His site is in Japanese, but pretty easy to figure out.
Eveline Tarunadaja has these fantastic drawings that remind me of Aubrey Beardsley. She has a very pretty website as well.
Casey Gray's work is made entirely of stencils and spray paint. Such fantastic sence of composition, and I love the patterns created and colors used. I of course love the imagery and content as well.
Heathe Nash is an amazing South African artist who started just messin around with garbage and now has an entire company employing many people to create his beautiful plastic lights.
Christina K has such beautiful light illustrations. I am totally attracted to the delicate use of line. Her other link is part of Vault 49 whose site is awesome!
